Our Proposition
Introduction
The aim of this page is to explain to customers and potential customers what they can expect to receive from BFS and what they can expect to pay for our services.
It must firstly be highlighted that when dealing with financial advice there are two main elements;
Advice
Transactions
Sometimes advice leads to transactions, but not always.
Advice should not be mistaken for product selection and recommendation. Advice is either right or wrong. Eg you either need a pension or you don't.
We are a practice that is happy to be remunerated by way of commissions, fees, or a combination of the two. Part of our initial process will include a mutually convenient meeting (of upto 40 minutes in duration), at our cost.  During this meeting the subject of client agreed remuneration would be discussed.
Transactions
These can be one off transactions. An example being that you may wish to utilise your ISA allowance for a particular tax year. This is a one off transaction. Transactions are paid for on a one off basis.
After a one off transaction, you will receive no further on going advice unless requested.
Cost ; £dependant upon transaction
Advice
At BFS we have various levels of advice, all varying and all costing different amounts;
Level 1; - Generic advice.
  E.g. highlighting the need for retirement planning / pensions. This would outline the options available and the most suitable option for your circumstances. The HM Revenue and Customs maxima would be explained and contribution levels to meet aims and objectives would be calculated. No product selection would be discussed. Level 1 would usually include an assessment of your attitude towards investment risk.
Level 2; - Product Selection of Generic Advice;
  An extension of level 1, includes product selection. No implementation would be discussed, and you would be free to arrange the product selected via your own means.
Level 3; - Implementation;
  An extension of level 2, includes the implementation of the products selected.
Level 4; - Ongoing advice
  An extension of level 3, could include an annual review and ongoing advice at your request. Annual reviews would include updates of your circumstances, performance review, and re-assessment of attitude towards investment risk.
  Ongoing advice would also provide for administration of your portfolio by way of processing of annual documentation. You would also have access to an IFA via telephone.
  This level of advice has many options, including quarterly portfolio valuations
